A brief catch up...

So I have the house to myself for the next 2 1/2 weeks! Dave is off doing army stuff for the next couple of weeks and I have work and someone has to take care of our precious little pets.
So much has been going on, I am swamped with school work, work is started, I'm still trying to get my Mary Kay business going (my second job), and I am starting a job with a Christian Home soon (yes, that's 3 jobs... sigh). But for right now I'm just tyring to get myself through this class I'm in (one more week! WOOT WOOT!) Which means one more big project (sigh I have to start that one like tomorrow or the next day-probably Wednesday because I'm taking tomorrow off). For now I'm going to finish my postings tonight and then off to bed... I'm going to try to catch up on here in the next couple of days.

Life back to normal.

So I found my livejournal account from 2008 and the only thing I can say is how thankful I am that life has evened out for me. Life from 4 years ago was so different from my life now. I was in such a random place in my life then. I knew what I wanted but it was like nobody else was on board! LOL. And let's just not start on the relationship front from then! It's crazy that only one year after those sad and frustrating posts I met the love of my life. Since then everything in my life has fallen into place. Truth be told within a month of starting to talk to Dave life shifted, everything fell into place and my life was in order for the first time in almost forever.  Dave and I may argue from time to time, but I really am lucky to have him in my life and I have never looked back. We may have only been married for a year and a half, but it really feels like we have been together forever. As sappy as it may sound but we just fit together. Everything fits together with us and my past is drowned out and replaced with the new memories of us! (yeah I know... sad, sappy, and all of that, but I at times just feel as if I need something to remind me of the depressed dark girl I once was and how far life has taken me.)
Dave and me. Finishing up a wonderful fun day at the zoo
by watching our nieces playing at the park!

Family has gone home, and I am left here trying to figure out what to do with my days. It's crazy! We were go go go for a week and a half, and now everyone is gone and I'm left trying to find something to do. On top of that my car is broken! Soemthing about a belt or whatever! I'm so sick of car problems! We have had so many issues with cars I'm just done with it!  I can't wait until we both get reliable cars! School should be starting soon, and I'm ready to go back to work.....
Dave and me. Just hanging out with the family!

My Brother and Sister-in-law! I couldn't ask for better in-laws!
We all get along so well! I love when they visit! Hope to
get to see them more often!

We are getting ready to work on getting our fall garden started. I'm very excited to get it going! Growing the few tomato plants I did this summer really has shown me how fun a SMALL garden can be! I'm not going to go crazy or anything just enough to supliment some of our  food expense and to get the good taste of home grown food! I haven't realized how much I miss home grown veggies until having them again (but isn't that the way it always seems to be).
My current tomato plants! Looking forward to starting
my new garden!

So I know I haven't been very good with this whole blogging thing, and I'm trying to decide where to go with it.... I'm not sure if I should keep it completely random or decide on a theme to go with. The thing is my life is so random... I like growing a garden, reading, cooking, crafts, sewing, pets, education and the list goes on... I might just have to keep it random to keep up with my life. I know this was a lot spit out all at once, but I think that starts catching everything up from my last few weeks or so! (Eventually I will figure out how to be better at this thing...)

Family and Fun

My brother-in-law and his family are down from Connecticut! They got here Thursday and it has been such a full and exciting weekend! Dave, sadly, had to do his army thing this weekend so we didn't get to spend much time with him. Today is his birthday. I got him a fan for his car. It sounds like a crazy gift, but the AC has been out on his car all summer and he has had to drive in 100 + temperatures in stop and go traffic for a week (not quite that high, but still high since May)! He seems to be quite happy with the gift and will try it  tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be another exciting day with the family. They will be down for another week and it seems to be full of more adventure and excitement.
On other notes. The drywall guy will be here Tuesday and Wednesday to attempt to fix our laundry room again! Hopefully they will get it fixed this time! Well that's all I have for tonight. I'm going to try to get some pictures posted of the family this week! My sister-in-law will be taking some pictures of Dave and me this week too, so hopefully I will have some good pictures of the two of us to put up!

A little change...

I changed the look of my little spot on the internet. We are just sitting around the house for the afternoon. We went to church this morning (although we over slept and missed our life group session this morning) I ended up spending the time in the nursery. I was able to play with the one year old kiddos.
We spent the afternoon sitting around the house watching "Star Trek: the Next Generation." I need to be working on school work but am not in the mood.
I made red beans and rice for lunch, but they were not finished in time for lunch so we had sandwiches and them for dinner. Nothing much really going on right now.
Oh, my uncle is doing much better as of last night! We have had many people praying for him, and continuing to pray for him and our family.
My brother and sister-in-law will be down in a few days. I miss them and am very excited to get to see them again! Living 16 hours away is difficult to keep in touch with everyone. My family lives 9 hours away from us. It's taken a while to get used to. But I enjoy the few times we get to spend together. I am excited to spend the next week or so together.

::Sigh::

Everything has been a little crazy! Where to start... Well lets start with an hour ago and work backwards..... I found out my Uncle is in ICU with (what I have come to believe is) liver failure.... My Aunt is falling apart (understandably in my opinion) since they have been married since she was 14 (in any other situation that would be quite a romantic statement...). I was going to post earlier today, however we got about 2 cm of rain and our drought ridden City didn't know what to do with itself so our power went out for like an hour...
I was able to spend the 4th with my husband which was a nice treat getting a day in the middle of the week to just relax and spend some time with him. I have started attempting coupon-ing again. Being a substitute is good during the school-year, but nothing during the summer (benefit: I have the summer off! Woot woot! Downfall: no money!).
Last week we had VBS at church. Which was such a great week! We had 32 kindergartners (yes, 32 five-year-old's in one room!) We had so much fun and I got to know more adults in the process. I also brought home 2 more pets! We now have 2 beta fish! Which brings our pet population to up to 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 fish! Yes, that is 7 pets! What can I say, we love animals! Our first year anniversary of living in Tennessee has come and gone. I am so happy we moved here. I have my moments where I miss the people (I'm sure everyone has those) but we have met so many amazing people here!
We went back home and spent Father's day with my daddy! It was a quick trip (we got there at 2 am on Saturday morning and left at 2 pm Sunday- For those counting that is 32 hours... Yes, we drove 8 1/2 hours to see my family for 32 hours and drove back another 8 1/2 hours.... We must be crazy).
I found out at the beginning of the summer that my sister is going to have a baby! And we found out last week that it's going to be a girl! I have had my struggles with this since we want a  baby... But in the end I am quite excited for them and I can't wait to help my family spoil her! (that's what aunts are for right? I do understand my sister is going to do the same with our baby, but I'm ok with that!)
I think that sums everything up pretty well... My tomatoes are starting to ripen... I was able to eat my first one of the season today! We are working on clearing things to start a proper garden (since my plants are currently in pots next to my back door). I am planning on planting a fall garden and I can't wait! It's crazy. When I was in high school I HATED working the garden and here I am (don't say anything but my parents were right when they said "one day you will appreciate this knowledge!") SUPER excited about starting a garden here (although in my defense ours will be tiny compared to the 2 acre garden my family had growing up!)
I think that really is about it.... We are off to bed to watch an episode of Star Trek.. Te he he! I am working on keeping up with this better! (No really I'm serious this time... I'm going to eventually get better!)

Here are some VBS picks! So much fun and I wanted to share!

Happy Memorial Day!

We had a great day today! Dave and I enjoyed the extra day together. We had a picnic with our Sunday school group. I didn't know what to wear so I attempted to make a skirt (it actually turned out well and I was able to wear it today!).
After the picnic we stopped and got Thor (since it's the last one we needed to see to be caught up for the Avengers).
I have started my first attempt at growing veggies. I noticed today that I have my first tiny tomato! It is about 1/2 an inch! It is quite exciting for me! :D

Tennessee Renaissance Fair

We had such a good day! We went to the Tennessee Renaissance Fair. There was so much to see and do! There were some clothes that I thought about getting (and next time might not be able to control myself), jewelry, and a lot of various things (like purses, candles, accessories, etc.) that were handmade and fun to look at.
This weekend is the International Jousting Tournament. It was so exciting! I have never been to a Renaissance Fair much less a jousting tournament! I was like a child I was so excited about watching. Our "cheerleader" for the even explained jousting for those who did not know what it was. She said jousting is where "big knights get on big horses and hit each other with big sticks." I thought that was so funny. Just a few pictures from today's adventure.

A fairy sitting in the middle of the fair. There were a few of these set up where they interacted with visitors. They also at some point were blowing bubbles, and dancing around.

Some more of the workers interacting with the guests.

Here were some of the knights as they were being introduced  before the tournament.

The only knight in this part of the tournament to be knocked off of his horse. He walked off the field, but with a limp. He also declined the opportunity to remount his horse and go again.

Some more of the tournament. I actually took a LOT of pictures of the tournament. It was my first time to watch jousting and it was SO much fun.

 The "Queen."

Again, I took a ton of pictures of the event.

Here were the knights at the end of the event. They were getting ready to read out the scores.

Here they are lining up in order of their placement.

I had so much fun. I know this is going to sound VERY crazy, but I want to make Renaissance wear for next year, so Dave and I can dress up and be one of the "crazy people." But, I think it will be SO much fun! I don't know if you can tell but I LOVED the Renaissance Fair! It was the first one I have been to. Since we are hoping to have a baby by next year I will have to make something for the baby too... Which I think will be so cute! So many ideas for next year.

Woo hoo!  tomorrow I gave decided will be a day of relaxing with my husband before I start my summer adventures!  I also have a week or two off from my classes. So it will be an interesting and slower couple of weeks... But I have big house cleaning/organizing plans... I guess We will just have to see!

Here it is... Midnight...

Here I am. Laying in bed at midnight unable to sleep... Why one would ask... well because I have so much to do tomorrow that I have been left unable to fall asleep. So I got up and started working on the few things I could get done tonight... I finished up some schoolwork. Tomorrow is the last day of the class I'm taking and I'm so stressed about that I feel like I could throw up! Then I get called into work, and somewhere between finishing up my project and watching a third grade class tomorrow I have to make 3 dozen cupcakes by 6pm for my MK meeting! What a day! But at least I'm pretty much finished with my school work... I think! And I'm starting to get tired again. I'm hoping to be asleep in the next 20 minutes because I have to be up somewhere around 5 AM.
Enough of the complaining I suppose. Here is a picture to leave with! I'm not sure what I ever did without having this little man to protect my clothes after the dryer! I love my pets!
He does take his job very seriously! It took me forever to get the clothes out of the dryer and away from him! Such helpful pets!

Get better

I will hopefully get better at this whole blogging thing...
So I WA innocently attacked by our cat and later fell down our stairs today...
So the story behind our cat. He was a rescue who kind of found us. He wondered into our yard in may wounded and starving. Being me, and having recently found a rediculous fondness for cats my husband and I brought him to the vet and saved him and adopting him. We were both very excited, a new addition to our growing pet family. Well, the other two cats were not so thrilled with this. Scnappi quickly got over it... However Andy and Buffy HATE each other. Any time they get the chance to attack one another they jump at the chance. Well, this morning I was sitting on the couch with Buffy watching some TV before work and out of no where a streak of 15.5 pounds of black fur tries to rip out a chunk of her and missed. Coming away instead with a piece of my elbow! Sigh.
As for me falling down the stairs that is pretty much all due to my complete lack of coordination! I was goind downstairs and just slipped... Like my feet no longer wanted to guide me down the stairs, opting instead to let gravity do all of the work!
Well I'm off to sleep. another long day tomorrow.

Another Monday....

Another weekend has come and gone. I didn't get called in to work again today... The life of a substitute teacher! But I had extra time to get my school work done.
I made homemade tomato sauce for the first time for dinner tonight. And it turned out quite well! :D
My cat's are attacking each other again...
This is Schnappi. He was the first cat we got. I put our puppies sweater on him. He was NOT a  happy kitty! Lol. He makes me giggle a lot... we have 2 other cats, Buffy and Andy. And we have 2 puppies Chumley and Zander. They are all so funny!

Another Day...

Sitting around the house. Going to try this blog thing again. I haven't had a blog since high school, so this should be fun.
Another eventful day is finished. My car was fixed and we were able to pick it up today. I wrote my first paper for my Master's program, then thought my computer decided to delete it. But thankfully it was saved and I didn't have to rewrite it. I also did a full day of school work. I'm very much liking doing my schoolwork online through the University of Phoenix.
Now Dave and I are just sitting around the house watching the ID channel. Probably going to bed soon... I'm in the mood to make something, just have to figure out what I'm going to make... not sure if it's going to be baking or crafty... hmmm... guess I'll just have to figure it out. Well I'm off to bed... I'll try to remember to post more later.
